Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how [REGISTERED ENTITY NAME], trading as Off Campus Dev ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use offcampusdev.com (the "Platform"). We are the data fiduciary for that data.

We build AI hiring products, which means we process resumes. We have written this policy to be specific about exactly what that involves.

1. Data we collect

CategoryExamplesWhy we need it

We never store your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN. Payments are handled entirely by our payment gateway on their own secure systems. We only receive a transaction reference and status.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not ask for your Aadhaar number, PAN, bank account credentials or passwords to any other service.
  • We do not collect your marks, caste, religion, health data or other sensitive categories for the job search product.
  • We do not buy personal data or resume databases from third parties.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the service: matching your profile to openings, sending alerts, tracking your applications.
  • To process payments, prevent chargeback fraud and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
  • To communicate with you about your account, security, billing and material changes to the service.
  • To improve the Platform: measuring which features are used, diagnosing errors and improving match quality in aggregate.
  • To keep the Platform safe: detecting abuse, scraping, fake accounts and fraudulent listings.
  • To send marketing emails only where you have opted in. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe.

4. How AI processing works

When you upload a resume, our system extracts structured fields from it — skills, degree, branch, graduation year, experience — and compares them with the requirements parsed from each opening to produce a match score. Points you should know:

  • The output is a ranking aid. It is not a hiring decision, and no employer sees a score.
  • Match scores are advisory and may be wrong. You are always free to apply to any listing regardless of score.
  • We do not sell your resume, and we do not send your resume to employers. When you apply, you go to the employer's own page and submit it there yourself.
  • Where a third-party AI provider is used for processing, they act as our processor under contract, may only use the data to perform the service for us, and are not permitted to use your data to train their own general-purpose models.
  • We do not make solely automated decisions that produce a legal effect on you.

5. Legal basis and consent

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you create an account or upload a resume, to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the Platform secure. You may withdraw consent at any time; where processing is necessary to provide the service, withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide it.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Payment gateway — to process your subscription and refunds.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run and store the Platform.
  • Email and analytics providers — to send transactional email and understand aggregate usage.
  • AI processing providers — to perform resume parsing and matching, under the restrictions in section 4.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law, court order or a valid legal request, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We may use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in.

8. Data retention

  • Account and profile data: retained while your account is active.
  • Resume files and extracted fields: retained while your account is active, or until you delete them — whichever is earlier.
  • After account deletion: personal data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised within 90 days, except records we must keep by law.
  • Payment and tax records: retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law.

9. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, hashed passwords, least-privilege access controls for our staff, audit logging of administrative actions, and regular dependency and configuration reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
  • Delete your data and close your account.
  • Withdraw consent to processing or to marketing at any time.
  • Export a machine-readable copy of the data you provided to us.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
  • Complain to us, and thereafter to the relevant data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@offcampusdev.com from your registered address. We will respond within 30 days and will not charge you for a reasonable request.

11. Children

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above, or 13 and above with verifiable parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children below 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Data location and transfers

We store data on servers located in or serving India. Some of our processors may store or process data outside India. Where that happens, we require contractual safeguards obliging them to protect your data to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable Indian law.

13. Third-party sites

Clicking an "Apply" link takes you to an employer's own website or applicant tracking system. Once there, that organisation's privacy policy applies to whatever you submit. We are not responsible for their practices.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change and, for material changes, we will notify you by email or an in-product notice before the change takes effect.

15. Contact and grievances

Privacy questions: privacy@offcampusdev.com. Grievance officer: grievance@offcampusdev.com. Postal address and phone number are on our Contact Us page.

Note: This document is a good-faith operational draft prepared for our platform. It is not legal advice. Placeholders marked in square brackets must be completed with our registered details, and we recommend a review by a qualified Indian lawyer before commercial launch.
